Betsy’s New Moon in Scorpio Tarot Reading for October 27, 2019

Betsy has been itching to write more on her spiritual readings. We decided to start her blog series post called “Udderly Zen Readings.” So, here we go!

Cards that were pulled for the New Moon in Scorpio:

The Hierophant, 5 of Swords & 10 of Pentacles. Using the Smith-Waite Centennial Tarot Deck.

In a nutshell:

Moo…this New Moon in Scorpio isn’t going to be a time to take things lightly. Definitely some intense energy to watch out for during this moon cycle. Plenty of willpower to cut away from dead & toxic relationships / situations with some politics involved. A much needed focus to start securing your own home front and ensuring that your loved ones are safe.

Physical Level – The Hierophant

Anyone else fed up with red tape and politics? Seems here that no matter how much we try to reason, we seem to go back to square one. A sense of hypocrisy in the air. Followers are being blindly told what’s right and what’s wrong. No sense in individuality. Uncover the truth, even if it means shaking up a few members in the organisation. Not every advice given has value or substance.

Mental Level – 5 of Swords

Calculating many ways to cut through the red tape requires mastering the art of manipulation and charisma. But others don’t need to know what’s in your mind. In full face value, you’ll appear as getting along with others. However, you’re coming up with ways to make your exit plan before the war gets even worse. You can pick and choose your own battles. But consider delivering the final blow with enough evidence to show that what they’re doing to you is plain unethical.

Advice from the Universe – 10 of Pentacles

There’s more to than just securing the bag. You need to secure your home front. Focus and visualise a stable & abundant environment that you would be proud to share with your loved ones. Protection spells and ritual work can be done during this moon phase. Financially speaking, it would be a good time to work on your budget and see how much you can save up, in case an unexpected change happens.

Rooted in Friendship

Betsy found a new friend and it’s a Venus Fly Trap. It’s name is Vivi. She wanted to name it Sailor Venus, but Vivi sounded easier to pronounce.

I recently acquired a Venus Fly Trap during my trip to the NY Hall of Science and fell in love with it!

Do you have a Venus Fly Trap at home? If so, let me know!

Flamenco Cow

Hi friends 👋 I decided to get my hands on the ArtSnacks July 2019 subscription box, which features the theme of watercolours. I adore watercolours a lot as this is what I mostly use for my Betsy illustrations.

Each of the items in my box worked so well together, it was impossible not to get giddy on the art supplies ☺️

Since the two watercolour paints are rose and yellow, I decided to incorporate them to my illustration piece featuring Betsy as a flamenco dancer. Doesn’t she look lovely in her dress?

I did a quick review on the ArtSnacks box, which you can find here on my IGTV channel. And, if you’re interested in trying out ArtSnacks, you can check out this link here to take 10% off your first subscription box.

I hope you had an udderly fantastic Wednesday!

Betsy’s Sanctuary

It’s not everyday you see a cow sitting comfortably reading a book.

In Betsy’s case, her collection of books are the ideal entertainment for when she feels like escaping from reality. With so many worlds to explore, Betsy always felt amused and excited with each page turned.

Ahh…books. Glorious, precious books.

Regardless of genre, I find books to be a source of happiness and comfort for when days become stressful or if I needed a moment of solitude.

Growing up, I’ve spent my time lounging around at my local Brooklyn Public Library. Usually after school, I would take a walk to my local library and borrow some romance and thriller literature to occupy myself once I was finished with my homework (Sweet Valley High were my guilty pleasure book series 😅).

I didn’t have a lot of friends back then, so having books near me was my own little piece of heaven. I found myself lugging more books, which was an acceptable form of baggage for me to carry rather than participate in nonsensical high school drama 🙃. At least reading books kept me out of trouble, for the most part.

As I’ve gotten older (and silently thanking technology for the creation of the Internet), I found myself hoarding even more books, this time in a digital format. Still, nothing beats like the actual physical copy of a book. The scent, touch, the presentation, etc…

I remember visiting City Lights Books during my trip to San Francisco on a whim as I’ve discovered it was not too far off from where I’ve stayed.

You can imagine my excitement where I was able to stroll around for an hour in checking out the shelves and being immersed by the plethora of books that were hanging around the walls. Highly recommend this book shop, by the way 😊

At the moment, I still have a couple of books I’m currently reading.

What are your favourite books? Let me know in the comments below 💭

Bikini Outfit

Betsy felt cute and happy as she modeled herself in front of the mirror. She didn’t care about what others think of her bikini outfit.

“The beach will need to make room for my awesomeness when I arrive,” she proudly said to herself.

Going home

It was time for Betsy to go home. She will never forget the sights and sounds from her vacation.

Betsy became fond of the palm trees during her stay. It was a reminder to slow down and enjoy life with each passing breeze.
