Betsy’s New Moon in Scorpio Tarot Reading for October 27, 2019

Betsy has been itching to write more on her spiritual readings. We decided to start her blog series post called “Udderly Zen Readings.” So, here we go!

Cards that were pulled for the New Moon in Scorpio:

The Hierophant, 5 of Swords & 10 of Pentacles. Using the Smith-Waite Centennial Tarot Deck.

In a nutshell:

Moo…this New Moon in Scorpio isn’t going to be a time to take things lightly. Definitely some intense energy to watch out for during this moon cycle. Plenty of willpower to cut away from dead & toxic relationships / situations with some politics involved. A much needed focus to start securing your own home front and ensuring that your loved ones are safe.

Physical Level – The Hierophant

Anyone else fed up with red tape and politics? Seems here that no matter how much we try to reason, we seem to go back to square one. A sense of hypocrisy in the air. Followers are being blindly told what’s right and what’s wrong. No sense in individuality. Uncover the truth, even if it means shaking up a few members in the organisation. Not every advice given has value or substance.

Mental Level – 5 of Swords

Calculating many ways to cut through the red tape requires mastering the art of manipulation and charisma. But others don’t need to know what’s in your mind. In full face value, you’ll appear as getting along with others. However, you’re coming up with ways to make your exit plan before the war gets even worse. You can pick and choose your own battles. But consider delivering the final blow with enough evidence to show that what they’re doing to you is plain unethical.

Advice from the Universe – 10 of Pentacles

There’s more to than just securing the bag. You need to secure your home front. Focus and visualise a stable & abundant environment that you would be proud to share with your loved ones. Protection spells and ritual work can be done during this moon phase. Financially speaking, it would be a good time to work on your budget and see how much you can save up, in case an unexpected change happens.

Astrology: Before vs After Discovering Your Natal Chart

Betsy discovered that her natal chart delves more than her Sun sign. So she’s making sure that she’s on top of the upcoming astrological changes.

Illustration made with Procreate.

There was a time that I believed my Sun sign was the only thing it should mattered when I read my horoscopes online and on print. Heck, I remember obsessing over the horoscopes section when I was a subscriber to YM Magazine (*cough* thanks Mom & Dad for letting me read them back in the 1990s).

I discovered my natal chart around 2015. Holy cow, it blew my mind that there were other aspects in my chart that I never realized it existed. Things like knowing your Moon sign, your Rising sign, Venus, Mars, Mercury, etc. It answered my questions as to why I didn’t really feel like a “true Taurus to the core” when I’ve exhibited some more fiery aspects of my personality (in this case, both my Venus and Mercury signs are in Aries).

While I don’t consider myself an astrology expert, I can tell you that there are numerous resources available on learning astrology. I highly recommend checking out Theresa Reed (a.k.a the Tarot Lady) on her Star School section where she delves into astrology that’s perfect for beginners. She also released her new book, Astrology for Real Life, where she provides a no-nonsense guide on discovering your natal chart, understanding the retrogrades in various planets, and much more.

If you’re looking for apps that you want to keep track on the astrological transits, here are my recommendations below:

Time Passages (iOS only; there’s a free and paid version).

Co-Star Astrology (iOS only; free to use).

Sanctuary Astrology (iOS only; free to use; in-app purchases).

Please note that I do not have an Android phone at hand, so if you want to sound off the recommendations on which astrology apps are worth checking out, let me know in the comments below.

What are you thoughts about astrology? Have you discovered your natal chart? I would love to read your responses in the comments section.

Namaste,
Diana
