Taking Drastic Measures

Betsy is pulling out her greatest weapon. She’s ready to beat the living crap out of anxiety and depression by all means possible. At this rate, Betsy might start a positive vibes only gang. Will you join her?

Webcomic made with Procreate

It ain’t easy living with anxiety and depression. It sucks. Recently, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with moments that, logically, I know I can’t control. But, my heart feels like I can be in control. And while some things may feel like there’s no hope at the end of the tunnel, I’m holding onto the notion that there’s a silver lining after everything else is said and done. Sometimes, I ask myself if what I’m doing is enough. And moments of feeling that I need to give 100% everyday when, energetically speaking, feels like I’m not meeting the quota. Having those talks in trying to convince myself that I’m doing what I can feels like a never ending battle of the heart and mind.

What’s been helping me as of late is writing out my thoughts more via my journal on what I’ve been feeling grateful for and putting in my prayer requests. It allows me to be honest when I’m writing out my day and what I would like to accomplish in my waking life. And perhaps hoping that the Universe would give me a sign (no brain, please don’t resort to the Britney Spears song 🤦🏻‍♀️)

I guess my prayers have been answered when a ladybug landed on me last night while I was writing in my journal! Here she is, roaming around my Kindle and iPad Pro. I remember hearing a *plop* sound when she landed on my desk 😂 I was so concerned that she was dead upon arrival. Thankfully, I saw movement when she moved around my desk.

We decided to set her free by having her go back outside. As much as I wished I could’ve kept her, it was the right thing to let her go back home to where she came from. My husband said that it’s a good sign for things to come.

I guess, in every sense of the word, the ladybug was the positive vibes that landed on me unexpectedly. And perhaps a good reminder that I have the power to do better for myself.

Betsy’s Emergency Birthday Plan

Betsy almost forgot about Mister’s birthday, so she went to great lengths in making sure his day is special.

Webcomic created with Procreate.

This comic is dedicated to my husband 🥰 his birthday is today so me and Betsy decided to add some humor for his special day. My husband is a bit camera shy, but he didn’t mind me drawing him 😂

Happy birthday to our mister. Me and Betsy udderly love you so much 💓 Now, go eat that strawberry cheesecake.

Why Betsy rarely wears makeup

Betsy tried a popular brand of cream blush. But she ended up overdoing it 😅 maybe next time, Betsy. One day, you’ll achieve your perfect rosy glow.

This post was inspired by a real life event. And sometimes, my husband reminds me and pokes fun of the situation 🤣

In case if you haven’t seen my Instagram stories and my tweets, I usually talk about how much I adore Glossier. Note that this blog post isn’t sponsored by them. I simply love their products because they work well for me.

One Sunday morning, I woke up late and I was in a rush to get dressed to go out grocery shopping. Luckily, I’ve already simplified my makeup routine because my focus has been on skincare. I’m a believer on the “less is more” philosophy. Anyways, I had samples from Glossier to try out their Cloud Paint (in shade Dawn). I didn’t realize they gave a generous amount of the Cloud Paint. So when I applied it on my cheeks, it ended up making it super orange. Totally my fault because (1) I wasn’t wearing glasses and (2) I was super groggy.

When my husband saw that I was struggling to wipe off the excess, he couldn’t help but laugh. Then he noted, “You really do look like Betsy struggling with her plushy mittens on wiping away the blush.” And that’s where the idea of this comic came from 😅 Overall, I rarely worry about looking overdone with Glossier since their products makes me look put together and confident to face the day ahead.

Some of my collection from Glossier.

On the bright side – I had the pleasure in visiting the Glossier flagship store in NYC a couple of weeks ago. Truly worth the experience and wait if you want to check out their products. Also, their decor is super cute.

New jewelry designs and an official launch date

Hi friends! Been a while since my last post. I’ve been busy making the jewelry & accessories. I’m happy to announce the official launch date will be on the Full Moon in Aries (October 13, 2019) around 2 – 3 PM (EST). It will be made available directly at RedLotusDesignz.com.

The designs have a pink background along with Betsy’s image. For the earrings, they’re paired with a gem bead. All of the pieces are handmade. Expect some slight imperfections, but each piece is unique in its own way. Like Betsy! 🐮

Here’s a sneak peak on some of the designs:

There will also be a special surprise on that day as well, so be sure to stay tuned for the news on October 13, 2019. If you’re not a subscriber to my blog, what are you waiting for? 😃

The Right Words To Say

On bad days, Betsy is reminded by her family that she’s loved and cared.  In turn, Betsy’s days are better than ever because of their support.

Webcomic made with Procreate.

Happy Friday, friends 👋 a bit of a sentimental post as I’ve been reflecting on the changes happening within my life.

Between my son starting school, the upcoming launch of my jewelry line and my secret project, I’ve been feeling grateful for the support that I’ve received. My husband has been the biggest cheerleader when I post my illustrations. Sometimes, I would have bad days at work and he would cheer me up by telling me, “What would Betsy do?” I’m reminded that my own family will always be there for me. I rely on their support and know that my inspiration comes from the home front.

Who are your biggest cheerleaders in your life that motivates you to keep on going? I would love to read your responses in the comments below.
