Hey friends 👋 here’s today’s quote that Betsy would like to share with y’all.
You won’t learn anything if you stay comfortable. Get out of your comfort zone. That’s where real success begins.
It was shared via Twitter this past Friday but I wanted to re-emphasise the quote in this post. It’s worth noting that everyone’s definition of success is different. But one way or another, I think many of us can agree that learning and participating in new experiences requires risks to be made.
Staying in the mode of the “what-ifs” can lead to a mindset filled with complacency. As such, we end up creating our own fears by thinking of the worst scenarios that might happen, should we take those risky routes. We can try our hardest in living a risk-free life. We can try following a path that’s tried and true. There’s some folks that want to stay in the comfort zone until their last days on Earth. And really, that’s their prerogative.
If you’ve been wanting to learn a new skill, take upon a new career, become an activist on a cause that you truly believe in, why wait? What’s stopping you? Some of you may say the following:
- My spouse / partner won’t support me.
- My family thinks it’s too risky and won’t bring in money.
- My friends think that it’s stupid for me to go in (insert field here).
I’ll let you in a secret – some of the people who you love and care about are responding out of fear, jealously or a lack of understanding about the type of work you want to do.
Focus on your own growth, not someone else’s opinions about what you should do. We should start learning to trust in our inner GPS and not some “get successful and rich overnight” schemes.
Growth takes time. There’s no limit. And growth needs to be uncomfortable for us to truly enjoy and appreciate the hard work we put in when we get to the level of our own success, no matter which path we choose.
I wish you lots of love, powerful vibes and plenty of willpower. You got this 💪🏻 let me know in the comments on what you want to do and what risks you are willing to take.
If this post resonates with you, tips are appreciated.
